Felix Baumgartner once set a world record.

However, his views caused him to end up out of line with many people at a breathtaking speed, as a conflict with editor-in-chief Florian Klenk proves.

For many people, Felix Baumgartner has catapulted himself from space to extinction, as the latest conflict with an editor-in-chief underlines this.

Vienna – It is not the first time that the extreme athlete Felix Baumgartner has publicly expressed extreme opinions.

Since his world record jump of almost 40,000 meters in 2012, the Salzburg native has repeatedly attracted attention with his harsh words on social media.

Especially during the corona pandemic, he railed against the government and gave his own tips on how to combat the virus.

He attacked editor-in-chief Florian Klenk on exactly this topic.

Baumgartner scolds the editor-in-chief for having a fivefold corona vaccination: “Strong idiot”

It's not for nothing that many reports about the 54-year-old went in a certain direction.

“Record jump into the right-wing swamp” (Die Welt),

n-tv

wrote: “Baumgartner's deep fall with right-wing spin”,

stern.de

headlined the “Baumgartner file - his worst derailments” and today.at also reported on him Sellner praised identities and came out as a “fan”.

Sellner was part of the “Remigration Meeting” in Potsdam 2024.

He now had an absurd argument with the editor-in-chief on social media.

Klenk from the daily newspaper Falter wrote that he was infected with Corona and was benefiting from his five vaccinations.

“Go through Corona for the second time.

Also because I've been vaccinated five times, things are going moderately." Klenk wants people to believe the experts, "not the charlatans."

As such, Baumgartner probably felt addressed and started: “You must be a real idiot if you are vaccinated five times, keep getting Corona and then defend the vaccination.

Bravo Florian Klenk.” Because that wasn’t enough, he followed up with the hashtag “Pharmahure”.

The level fell faster than it did in 2012.

Extreme athletes with extreme opinions – Klenk first asked for donations, then threatened to sue

Klenk reacted to the extreme athlete's bottomless words.

The 50-year-old countered: “Anyone who, like Felix Baumgartner, calls me a 'pharmaceutical whore' or a 'firm idiot' will first be asked to donate.

If that doesn't help, a lawsuit.” This worked for some users, who deleted their post, but not for Baumgartner.

Baumgartner sounded a bit stubborn between the lines: “Isn’t that sweet?

The (Corona) sick Mr. Klenk (who likes to get into every fight on Twitter) is threatening us with a lawsuit and so that it doesn't look as if he wants to enrich himself personally, he is asking everyone who has shared my post to donate first to a children's hospice," said Baumgartner on Facebook, who is as "less afraid of it as he is of Corona." He also had a suggestion for Klenk, namely that he pay for the "next five vaccinations" and the "booster throw it on top as an apology.”

The athlete's words and the conflict that now arose definitely left an absurd aftertaste.

Klenk made his corona illness public at the beginning of December 2023, Baumgartner did not respond until the end of January.

Only Baumgartner himself knows what led him to do this - and many other things.
