The controversial amnesty bill for Catalan separatists was rejected on Tuesday by the Spanish Chamber of Deputies due to the negative vote of Carles Puigdemont's party, which considered that it did not go far enough.
This rejection at first reading does not mean the abandonment of the text, which will have to return to the parliamentary committee where it can be modified.
But it illustrates the extreme fragility of the government of Pedro Sánchez, subject to permanent pressure from the party of Carles Puigdemont, without whom it does not have a majority.
