After a bag burned in a house entrance on Wilhelmshöher Allee, between Berlepschstrasse and Huttenstrasse, in Kassel late Monday afternoon yesterday and, according to the current investigation, there were also smaller explosions, the criminal police are investigating at full speed.

Immediately after the incident, which occurred around 5:20 p.m., the crime scene was cordoned off until around 9:30 p.m. and forensics were carried out.

Possible witnesses were questioned until late into the night.

Residents in the surrounding houses were also questioned by the police that evening as to whether they had made any unusual observations.

According to the information available so far, a bag containing flammable substances and several nails was apparently left in the entrance area of ​​an apartment building by unknown persons and set on fire.

According to police spokesman Matthias Mänz, a bag was left in the area of ​​a house entrance near Huttenstrasse around 5:20 p.m.

Several neighbors who were waiting in front of the barrier confirmed that they heard a loud bang.

One resident said: “As if a firecracker went off in a container.”
