Operation on Wilhelmshöher Allee in Kassel: A bag exploded there on Monday.
A woman was injured.
The police cannot rule out a political motive.
Update from Tuesday, January 30th, 11:31 a.m.:
After a bag burned in a house entrance on Wilhelmshöher Allee, between Berlepschstrasse and Huttenstrasse, in Kassel late Monday afternoon yesterday and, according to the current investigation, there were also smaller explosions, the criminal police are investigating at full speed.
Immediately after the incident, which occurred around 5:20 p.m., the crime scene was cordoned off until around 9:30 p.m. and forensics were carried out.
Possible witnesses were questioned until late into the night.
Residents in the surrounding houses were also questioned by the police that evening as to whether they had made any unusual observations.
According to the information available so far, a bag containing flammable substances and several nails was apparently left in the entrance area of an apartment building by unknown persons and set on fire.

Residents and passers-by then tried to put out the fire.
Small explosions are said to have occurred, with a 30-year-old passerby being slightly injured in the face.
According to current knowledge, no other people were injured and there was no major damage to property.
The background to the crime is currently still unclear.
There are currently no indications of a possible motive for the crime.
The police and public prosecutor's investigations into causing an explosive explosion are currently going in all directions.
Since there is a women's computer school in the affected building, which also offers courses for migrant women, a politically motivated act cannot currently be ruled out.
As a result, the State Security Criminal Inspectorate of the North Hesse Police Headquarters took over the investigation.
A working group is currently being set up there to investigate the case.
The police are still looking for witnesses who may have made suspicious observations in connection with the crime.

Large-scale operation for the police and fire brigade late on Monday afternoon and evening on Wilhelmshöher Allee.
According to police spokesman Matthias Mänz, a bag was left in the area of a house entrance near Huttenstrasse around 5:20 p.m.
This bag first burned, then there was a smaller explosion.
Initially it was said that no people were injured in the explosion.
According to police spokesman Mänz, later in the day a 30-year-old woman reported that she had suffered minor facial injuries in the explosion.
However, no major damage to property is said to have occurred.

According to information from our newspaper, the bag was left in the entrance to house number 164.
It is located in the area on Wilhelmshöher Allee between Huttenstrasse and the Berlepschstrasse tram stop that was cordoned off by the police for hours - in the direction of Bergpark.
However, Wilhelmshöher Allee was temporarily closed in both directions in this area.
The police were on site with a large contingent - as were the rescue service with two ambulances and the fire department with several vehicles.
Several neighbors who were waiting in front of the barrier confirmed that they heard a loud bang.
One resident said: “As if a firecracker went off in a container.”

The police combed the surrounding area with flashlights and a large number of officers: bushes, garbage cans, side streets.
The emergency services also filmed the facade of the house in whose entrance the bag is said to have exploded, and they questioned the residents.
Some of them who were not at home were directed to their homes.
Otherwise no one was allowed to enter the area.
The police investigation dragged on for hours.
Due to the closure of Wilhelmshöher Allee in this area, drivers had to take detours.
In this context, the police are also asking for information from witnesses.
