As the prestigious artery of the 8th arrondissement of Paris prepares to welcome the whole world for the Summer Olympic Games, discontent is growing among independent restaurateurs established on the avenue.
In question, the standardization of new terraces and counter-terraces, their cost, and the explosion of fees for the occupation of public domain.

The first prototype was installed last September at number 86 Avenue des Champs-Élysées, in front of the L'Occitane X Pierre Hermé concept store which had seen its terrace damaged by riots this summer.
Two others are being installed in front of McDonald's and the Scandinavian restaurant Flora Danica, located respectively at numbers 140 and 142. In total, 19 stores could be equipped with the same structure, which will be part of the landscape after the Olympics.
