The Last Generation is ending its sticky protest and planning rallies instead.
A climate activist tells what this could mean for Munich.
Munich – It’s all stuck out!
The Last Generation activists have announced an end to their sticking actions in a statement.
Marion Fabian (73) from Berlin blocked our streets several times.
In an interview with our newspaper, she tells us what's next.
Ms. Fabian, recently things have been quieter around the last generation - because you have worked out your new strategy?
Yes.
But of course the farmers also stole the show with their tractor protests.
We continued to protest afterwards, for example with tractor posters.
Some people found that funny - the actions were successful.
But the sticking should come to an end.
Has this form of protest not proven successful?
Yes, we thought it was a good strategy.
But now we want to start disobedient gatherings instead.
This means: Instead of ten individual blockades with five to seven people, all 50 to 70 activists will be together in one place.

They cite these gatherings as the main form of protest.
What do citizens have to prepare for?
Our protest will take place on streets or public places - where there are many people.
We want to address the population with speeches in a kind of rally.

When are you starting this?
We want to start nationwide from March.
There are no exact dates for Munich yet, but we will announce activities.
What do you hope to achieve from the new form of protest?
More influx.
Because it will be lower-threshold.
Given the demonstrations against the right, we are currently feeling that the population is receptive to protest, especially when it comes to justice.
How do you personally feel about the end of the adhesive?
As far as I'm concerned, we could have continued like this.
We were successful.
But we have collected opinions and surveyed the population within the last generation.
And that has contributed to the fact that we will no longer block drivers, but will instead directly confront politicians and decision-makers from politics and business.
Who could these people be in Munich?
We haven't made a specific decision yet.
