At the Henry Dunant Academy of the BRK Starnberg, certificates were recently handed out to 14 participants in a first course for daycare workers.
They can be used immediately.

– Things were emotional these days in the Solferino hall of the Multi-Generation Campus (MGC) on Starnberger Straße in Gauting: “We did it,” said a delighted Sylvia van Haastert, one of 14 participants in the first block of Module A for assistant training the Henry Dunant Academy of the BRK Starnberg.
All those who hold the certificate are now allowed to work as assistants in the BRK's 22 daycare centers in the Starnberg district or with other providers, whereby daycare centers receive funding if the assistants are hired.
This is very important for all parents given the general shortage of skilled workers.
This means that a milestone has been reached for the 14 participants.
The learning content of the block of Module A was about empathy, the ability to cooperate and reflexivity, i.e. the ability to act thoughtfully.
The participants still have the content of the second block of Module A. Block B qualifies them as a daycare supplementary worker, Block C as a pedagogical specialist who can even work as a daycare center manager, the BRK said.
Stefanie Hottarek, head of the Henry Dunant Academy, was impressed by her protégés: “I am impressed by what everyone has learned and taken away here,” she said.
The qualification to become a daycare assistant was developed by the Bavarian State Ministry for Family, Labor and Social Affairs and the State Institute for Early Childhood Education and has been offered at the Henry Dunant Academy since autumn 2023.
