Footprints and hole in the ice on the pond – teenager broke in?
First report from Thursday, January 18th, 12 p.m.:
Bad Grund - An unusual discovery was made in the municipality of Bad Grund (Göttingen district) on Thursday morning (January 18th): passers-by discovered shoe marks and a larger hole in the middle of the building at around 8:15 a.m so-called “student pond” in Gittelde and reported this to the police.
Officials in the Göttingen district say it is still unclear whether someone could have broken into the water in freezing temperatures.
Due to the uncertain situation, the police requested divers from Northeim via the Bad Grund volunteer fire department to investigate the pond.
This investigation is currently taking place (as of January 18, 12 p.m.).
Probably young people on the “student pond” – did one fall through the ice?
According to the police, reports from residents indicate that several young people could have been near the pond the evening before - between 9 and 9.30 p.m.
They reported hearing voices and loud shouts.
Another witness stated that young people were on the water with a snow shovel at around 8:20 p.m.
Based on this information, it cannot be ruled out that a person could have broken into the water and possibly been pulled out again by the others.
