Invitalia has approved the contribution of 602 thousand euros to finance the expansion of Ittinsect's technical and commercial activity, bringing the biotech company closer to the industrial-scale production of 100% proteins deriving from the circular economy.

The company made this known, noting that "Invitalia's financing represents an important and increasingly concrete step towards safeguarding the seas" impoverished due to wild fishing.

Ittinsect, a startup "already selected for the Zero program, the Italian cleantech accelerator of the national network of accelerators of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and portfolio startups of Lventure Group - we read in the press release - will produce a sustainable flour intended for fish farming. Ittinsect will use the 602 thousand euros, worth of the project granted by Invitalia, to build part of the first production plant which will allow it to supply its customers with 2,500 tonnes of sustainable proteins per year".

The scale-up, concludes the note, will encourage the hiring of specialized personnel and the registration of new patents to consolidate the market competitiveness already acquired.
