This is what the police, soldiers, lawyers and even volunteers are faced with investigating the sexual crimes committed by the Palestinian Islamist movement on October 7.

Ultra-sensitive, this investigation was entrusted to the Lahav 433 criminal police division, and more particularly to its unit 105, usually dedicated to online crimes against minors.
“Collecting evidence is very difficult work,” concedes Mirit Ben Mayor, spokesperson for the Israeli police.
“First, there are very few survivors.
Secondly, these were war zones, which makes the analysis work even more complicated.
Those who suffered sexual violence were also murdered.
Victims who are able to testify may take time to feel able to talk about what happened to them.
