Kempten federal police first stopped a box van registered in Italy that was occupied by four men at the checkpoint.

According to their own statements, the travelers were on their way to Stuttgart to work in trade fair construction for a few days.

The three Albanians, the 45-year-old driver and the two passengers, aged 28 and 38, presented Italian residence permits during the check, which had long since expired.

The 38-year-old also did not have a passport with him.

The only thing the officials had nothing to complain about was the documents of the 55-year-old Tunisian who was traveling with them.

The police reported the Albanian nationals for attempting to enter the country without permission.

The driver also received a report for attempting to smuggle in foreigners and had to pay a security deposit of 500 euros.

The federal police officers turned the carpool back to Austria in the evening.

Just an hour later, the crew arrived again at the federal police station, this time at the neighboring Füssen-Ziegelwies border crossing.

The officers reported the three men again.

The passengers were later given the van by the driver and had to travel back that night without the 45-year-old.

The suspected smuggler driver should be brought before the judge this Tuesday after consultation with the on-call public prosecutor.

On Tuesday morning, however, the federal police were given different instructions, so that the driver was ultimately turned away.

However, he now had to take the train.
