Every two years the best children's theater makers from all over Europe come together in Nuremberg.

On February 6th it's that time again - the Panopticon starts its 13th edition.

Nuremberg – When theater ensembles from France, Denmark, Belgium, Lithuania, Israel, Italy, the Czech Republic and Switzerland are guests in Nuremberg, it’s time again for the Panoptikum children’s theater festival.

The festival has been taking place every two years in the Franconian metropolis for 24 years.

Organized by Theater Mummpitz, spectators and specialists can look forward to a diverse program from February 6th to 13th.

Nuremberg Theater Festival: Guest artists from all over Europe

With drama, shadow theater, artistry, puppetry, music and dance, the program “covers the wide range and current developments of Bavarian and European children's theater,” promises the organizer.

Among others, “The Journey to the Center of the Forest” from Erlangen, “Jazz for Robbers or Gretel's Big Appearance” from Nuremberg, “Florchen” from Maßbach and “Play in the Game” from Munich will be performed in Nuremberg.

Hot phase and “more decisive step” now begins for organizers

For Andrea Erl, artistic director at the Mummpitz Theater, the hot and stressful phase begins: “Now comes the crucial step for us between thinking and planning and implementation.” A week beforehand, Erl has a big team meeting in which all services are scheduled down to the last detail.

The rehearsal of the production “Memories” and the music rehearsal will follow and the foyer must be designed and the technology checked.

She also welcomes the first artists to arrive in Bavaria from all over Europe.
