between Europe and Africa

To this end, she brought together some 60 high-ranking personalities in Rome on Monday, among whom there were only six African heads of state, excluding the Algerian and Egyptian leaders.
Also present were Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, Charles Michel, President of the Council, and Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament.
As Italy takes over the presidency of the G7, the objective is to launch new cooperation with African countries with increased development aid in return for their help in the fight against illegal immigration.
Italy also wants to develop energy agreements to ensure the security of its supplies.
Rome dreams of itself as a leading partner of Africa.
