In a game of tweezers, a sector of the Government headed by the Minister of the Interior
Guillermo Francos
and the president of the Chamber of Deputies,
Martín Menem
, seeks to advance in dialogue with the opposition to achieve half-sanction of the Omnibus Law.
But another sector, headed by President Javier Milei
himself,
torpedoes the governors and self-proclaimed dialogue blocs from social networks.
The discussion gets bogged down hours before the marathon session, which has already been called for Wednesday at 10.
These are the positions at this time, when the quorum of 129 deputies for the session - initially scheduled for Wednesday morning - is almost assured.
That is why more than 30 hours of debate are expected, although the frenetic negotiations continue.
Oscar Zago
, president of the ruling bloc La Libertad Avanza, has 38 hands (actually 37 until lawyer Alida Ferreyra is sworn in at the beginning of the session).
The vote of José Luis Espert
, who is in the Avanza Libertad monobloc,
is taken for granted .
Also, despite some criticism, support is expected from the wayward
Carolina Piparo
, who has the Buenos Aires Libre block with Lorena Macyszyn.
The breakup of Together for Change left the PRO with a block of 37 deputies headed by
Cristian Ritondo
and who already expressed themselves in favor of the Omnibus Law project.
Up to that point, the ruling party has 78. But Paula Omodeo
from Tucumán, from the Creo bloc, also spoke in favor in the plenary session of commissions
, although she has reservations regarding the biofuels chapter.
The vote of the three Tucumans who entered the Chamber of Deputies on the Union for the Homeland ballot is also discounted, they respond to the Peronist governor Osvaldo Jaldo and formed the "Independence" bloc.
Until then the count reaches 82 supports.
But in the last hours of this Tuesday, before the Parliamentary Labor meeting, the UCR came out to clarify that its 34 legislators will provide a quorum and vote in favor.
It was in a message from the head of the block,
Rodrigo de Loredo
.
Thus the number of the ruling party now exceeds 100 and climbs to 116 hands.
Whether in general or later in particular, something that will be defined this Tuesday afternoon in the parliamentary work meeting with the block presidents, to be approved the omnibus law project requires an absolute majority, that is, half plus one of present them in sufficient number to form a quorum of 129 deputies.
Non-negotiable and undecided rejections in conversations: the key votes that the Government needs
Union for the Homeland, chaired by
Germán Martínez
, has 99 members who are completely opposed to the official Omnibus Law project, entitled Bases and Starting Points for the Freedom of Argentines.
The five legislators of the Left Front (FIT) are also completely opposed.
The key is through the deputies who respond to the governors, many united in the blocks We Make Federal Coalition - chaired by
Miguel Ángel Pichetto
- and Federal Innovation led by Pamela Calletti from Salta.
In total there are 32 deputies who work in the same interblock.
The deputies respond to the governors Martín Llaryora (Córdoba), Ignacio Torres (Chubut), Rogelio Frigerio (Entre Ríos), Hugo Passalacqua (Misiones), Gustavo Sáenz (Salta), Rolando Figueroa (Neuquén), and Alberto Weretilneck (Río Negro) .
TOMORROW WE ARE GOING TO ACCOMPANY THE GOVERNMENT
Today I met with the National Deputies of Entre Ríos for the debate on the Base Law.
The legislators from my province will be in the session tomorrow and will accompany.
We have to achieve the necessary consensus among all so that… pic.twitter.com/lblopRdTYB

Among the four people from Córdoba,
Natalia de la Sota
- daughter of former governor José Manuel de la Sota - rejected the project and remains firm in her position.
The Civic Coalition founded by
Elisa Carrió
is within the We Make Federal Coalition block and - as it did in recent years - will not vote on any delegation of powers.
The "lilitos" add up to six.
But within that same block led by Miguel Ángel Pichetto are
Margarita Stolbizer
and socialists like
Mónica Fein
, who object to the law, or Emilio Monzó and Florencio Randazzo.
In this case, the search for support that Francos and Menem are pursuing collided with the retweeting maelstrom of President Javier Milei, who reposted on his X account (former Twitter) a harsh message that the provincial senator Joaquín De La Torre wrote against those who oppose to the Base Law: he called part of the opposition an “Extortion Block.”
Video
The national deputy of Hacemos Coalión Federal pointed out "the twenty Twitter (accounts) financed by the program" and warned that the Government will seek to exert pressure against opponents.
In that block,
Nicolás Massot
accused the Government of not wanting to reach an agreement to approve the omnibus law, after the frustrated meeting with the Minister of the Interior, Guillermo Francos.
"The Government has to change its position. You want to trash the deputies or senators, there is no problem. But there are 24 people who in their provinces are elected many times before the President. And they have to sit down and fix the fiscal balance of everyone and that the laws that pass through Congress generate consensus," said Massot in dialogue with
Radio Con Vos
.
And since every vote counts, the two deputies of the "Por Santa Cruz" bloc, of the new governor Claudio Vidal
, winner of Kirchnerism in his land,
are also wanted .
And the two deputies from the Production and Work bloc, who respond to the governor of San Juan,
Marcelo Orrego
, who came to power allied with Together for Change.
