The guard meetings in Peißenberg are among the most popular carnival events in the region.

On Sunday, over 30 dance groups came to the market town and brought their fans with them.

Peißenberg - Over nine hours packed with dancing skills: What the carnival club “Frohsinn 2000” put on at the two big guard meetings on Sunday in the Tiefstollenhalle once again raised the bar a bit.

The tables were already packed in the morning.

“It’s going to be really cozy,” said “Frohsinn” board member Thomas Rößle in amazement, looking at the many visitors who flocked to the Kindergarde meeting.

He asked to move something together.

There were around 400 guests who didn't want to miss the spectacle.

Around 400 girls and a few boys also crowded onto the stage when all the guards marched on, which also made it tight.

Guard meeting in Peißenberg: Even the four-year-olds demonstrated their skills

The Minis from Peißenberg were allowed to open the dance as hosts and were called onto the stage by those present with three “Good luck!”

After that it happened in quick succession.

Whether from Apfeldorf, Benediktbeuern, Sindelsdorf, Penzberg, Schwabsoien, Großweil, Schongau, Habach, Hohenfurch, Unterhausen or Schwabbruck: With usually several formations, the young dancers impressively presented what they had rehearsed in the last few months.

Even the four-year-olds demonstrated their skills with varied choreographies.

The elementary school students and teenagers even had lifting figures and pyramids up their sleeves.

Several child prince couples also bravely showed off their waltzes and show dances.

Thomas Rößle repeatedly interspersed humorous interviews with the children to bridge waiting times.

All respondents only had positive things to say about their trainers.

After four hours and lots of applause, the mostly beaming children made their way home after their performances.

The deep tunnel hall was fully occupied, even the gallery was well filled.

There was no time for the members of “Frohsinn” to rest.

Just two and a half hours later, the youth and adult guard meeting continued.

Again all the tables were full.

Pauline Rößle, who charmingly led the evening, encouraged the audience to loudly invite the Gardens in: “The Gardens should get a lot of energy from the hall.”

“The guard family has grown,” said the moderator happily with regard to the appearance of the Wertachgarde Kaufbeuren, which took part in the event in Peißenberg for the first time and immediately impressed.

“We’ll come back if we’re allowed,” dancer Sally expressed her enthusiasm afterwards.

To the regret of the many fans in the hall, the Schongau prince couple were unable to dance because the princess was injured.

There was still enough to admire.

With high leg throws, complicated figures, multi-story pyramids and fast jumps, the professionalism of the dance groups was increased a bit compared to last year.

The guards and prince couples all showed a high level.

The eleven-a-side council of “OK Penzberg” turned out to be one of the crowd’s favorites.

With a wink, the boys showed their energetic and sometimes lascivious dance, including members flying through the air, and were rewarded with thunderous applause.

And in our Weilheim-Penzberg newsletter.

“It's such a great togetherness and perfect cohesion among the guards,” said Thomas Rößle happily, given the good atmosphere in the hall.

His conclusion: “The carnival is alive.

And he also lives very strongly in Pfaffenwinkel.” By Ursula Gallmetzer
