The Oberes Vilstal boys' association is building a special vehicle for the Taufkirchen carnival parade.

Taufkirchen

– A total of 50 active members of the Oberes Vilstal boys' club have put in around 700 hours of work since December.

They meet regularly at the home of their chairman Johann Vorbuchner, known as Danger, in Tegernbach.

In his hall they prepare their carnival float, the trailer is 15 meters long.

With the tractor, the entire team measures 18.75 meters.

Exactly the maximum length that is allowed to take part in the carnival parade in Taufkirchen on Sunday, February 11th at 2 p.m.

Beforehand, all vehicles at the fairground in Hilpolding are checked by the TÜV.

The tension and stage fright increase.

Even a locomotive is scheduled to take part for the first time this year.

The boys took part in the parade for the first time five years ago, as beer drivers co-drivers.

“We were a brutal feast for the eyes,” says Danger.

This time the 16-member festival committee has big plans: the “Partymount”, derived from the Paramount film company.

The boys are celebrating their tenth anniversary in 2025 and were looking for a suitable motto and logo.

To ensure there are no copyright problems, they worked with a professional designer.

With a black and white summit silhouette and red lettering, they want to represent a mountaineering summit, which refers to their steep club history and that they can celebrate well, explains the chairman.

75 people fit in the car, at least six will accompany it on foot, adds his deputy Martin Unterreitmaier.

This is one of the many mandatory safety measures.

They therefore had to plow through some pages.

The club with its 128 active members has put in a lot of effort.

It's good that he has skilled workers for all the necessary trades: electricians, painters, carpenters and metal workers.

Everyone knows where to go, no long explanations are needed.

The metal base took a lot of work, says Danger (31), who made it with seven metal workers in his metal workshop on the farm.

Master carpenter Thomas “Damal” Angermeier from Eldering was responsible for the wooden structure.

He built an alpine hut in front, which was burned down to make it look more rustic, and behind it is the party mountain, where all drinks flow from the beer tap in the club's own reusable cups.

“Of course Taufkirchen beer,” everyone emphasizes.

The 1.96 meter tall vice chairman, an IT specialist, not only helped with all digital tasks, but was also happy to act as a henchman, like Vale Spiegel (17) from Taufkirchen.

He is learning to be a vehicle mechatronics technician for commercial vehicles.

He likes the community, how young and old work together and that he can learn a lot from it.

On some days it was “as cold as hell in the hall” and even the beer was frozen, says Robin Lauterborn (35) from Hubenstein.

Nevertheless, in the freezing cold, people worked, welded, painted, swore, ate, drank and laughed in the hall, which was a joy.

After Taufkirchen, the boys took part in carnival parades in Geisenhausen and Hague.

Not only in Tegernbach, but also in many other “secret” places.

Likewise in the town hall.

Angela Kräutler and Hildegard Holzinger, who are organizing the move, are particularly stressed here.

Around 60 groups of pedestrians and wagons are already taking part.

The majority of participants come from the Vils community, others from Dorfen, Holzland or the Velden area.

In addition to the Taufkirchen prince couple, clubs, kindergartens, schools and groups of friends, authorities and some companies with their employees are also taking part.

After the parade, the party continues in the party tent with a bar in the town hall parking lot.

DJ Karl provides carnival music, Taufkirchen show dance groups provide hot performances.

The new castle landlord Sebastian Oulton takes care of the catering in his own party tent and in a hut.

A pizza truck, a crepe stand and a Taufkirchen bakery with mobile sales trucks will also satisfy hunger and thirst on site.

The town hall café Spasso is also open.
