The 55-year-old runner whose traces were lost on Sunday morning in Bovegno, in the Brescia area, has been found dead.
The man, Fabio Ferrari, an engineer by profession, had walked along a path and his body was identified at the bottom of a gully.
He would have fallen a hundred meters into the void.
He is the third hiker to die in the mountains in the space of a few days in the province of Brescia.
In fact, on Saturday in two different areas of the province, a 44-year-old, Sergio Bologna, and a 54-year-old, Adriano Vergolio, died due to an accident in the mountains, whose funerals were celebrated today.
The last time he was seen was some hikers on Sunday morning between 11.30 and midday along the path just below Monte Muffetto in the Bovegno area, in the Brescia mountains.
Then all trace of Fabio Ferrari, a 55-year-old engineer from Provaglio di Iseo, was lost.
It was his wife who raised the alarm on Sunday evening after the man's phone no longer gave a signal, starting the search which ended this afternoon.
Ferrari had parked the car at 10.30 on Sunday in via Graticelle, in Bovegno, and then left in a hurry, as he often did for training.
He was in fact an expert runner and was equipped to run in the mountains.
