The couple from Herzliya, in their 40s with three young children, turned to the office of the architect Ron Spiegel even before choosing the final house.

They already had time to enter into an advanced negotiation on a house, which ultimately failed, and right after that they found the perfect property for them - a private house about 25 years old, located on a plot of land of about 300 square meters in the heart of one of the best and well-kept neighborhoods in the city and spanning 4 levels - Basement, ground floor, living floor and attic.

"It is obvious that over the years the house has been well cared for and maintained, but nevertheless, adjustments and upgrades were required both in the planning and in the design of the exterior and interior in order to adapt it to the lifestyles and tastes of the couple and their family," explains Spiegel.

"The end result is a house that provides a living experience that starts outside and gets stronger inside."

One of the most prominent challenges in the planning process was the connection between the different wings on the ground floor, in the center of which stood a staircase that had not yet been renovated, and created a complete separation between the kitchen and the living room and prevented the flow of the entire floor.

Meanwhile, the guest services located in the entrance area were designed in a position that made them stand out instead of being assimilated as much as possible into the space.

In order to open up and ventilate the floor and create a dynamic system of connections between the spaces, the architect chose to open the staircase as much as possible and the original walls are now replaced by a glass railing facing the public space and iron railings made by hand by an artisan that lead to the basement floor and the living floor.

The gram itself is covered with an oak tree, a motif that adds plenty of warmth and character to the public space.

Meanwhile, the guest services were redesigned so that they would be integrated integrally as part of the wall where Spiegel was able to additionally integrate other important functions, including a well-equipped and impressive bar area as well as plenty of storage spaces, including an area designed to store dining chairs that are used when hosting large parties.

The impressive piece of furniture is painted in a light shade and includes asymmetrical geometric divisions that add sophistication and interest and match the current style.

The kitchen has also been redesigned and includes two hinges of tall cupboards, one of which is a partition between it and the staircase and serves as a functional piece of furniture that combines open compartments around it in which books and ornaments are combined.

The combination between the light surfaces (Corian and Carrara marble-look Decton plate) and the facades (some covered in wood and some painted in graphite gray) make the space look incredibly sophisticated and meticulous.

In the bar area, bar chairs were integrated, which, like many pieces of furniture in the house, Spiegel chose Alietta Living.

They are upholstered in light and easy-to-maintain WATERPROOF NABUK leather in a dark gray shade that matches the color scheme in the space.

A surprising item is a console in a charcoal gray shade that stands near the exit to the garden and opens when necessary to a particularly large dining table with a length of no less than 4 m.

The large balcony is used for casual sitting where the couple often host for morning or afternoon coffee.

For the sake of the matter, Spiegel designed a peripheral bench with a thin canopy on which comfortable and colorful cushions are placed and a carpet in the center.

On the entrance floor, hidden VRF air conditioning systems were integrated into the carpentry details, which eliminated the need for lowering the ceiling.

For example, in the living room of the house where the air conditioning is integrated through the TV furniture which is partly painted with oven and partly covered with oak veneer.

Spiegel created two seating areas for the family in this space.

The larger one consists of a seating system that includes two deep and luxurious sofas upholstered in a rich, high-quality fabric in a gray/jeans blue shade.

An armchair upholstered in lemon-lime fabric was integrated to the side.

The smaller and more intimate seating area is used as a relaxation area for adults where they can enjoy a glass of good wine and enjoy the view outside.

Spiegel chose two armchairs for them which, like the central seating system, were also upholstered in fine fabric in a gray-blue shade.

The basement floor is used in the new design in part as a work area (to which there is a direct door and separate from the main entrance door) and plenty of play and craft stations for children.

The fishbone-patterned oak parquet accompanies the basement floor as well as the living floor where the couple's master bedroom was redesigned.

The old functions have changed their location and now the couple enjoys a new design that leaves the space open and airy and at the same time creates privacy and separation between the bedroom and the bathroom thanks to a tall closet unit that in the part facing the sleeping area serves as a multimedia wall for everything.
