Today (Wednesday), hundreds said goodbye to the late Marshal Ran Rani Goili, a Negev police officer, at a farewell ceremony at the Mitar athletics field.
Goyili, 24 years old in Nofo, lived in Mitar and was killed in a battle in Alumim on October 7.
His body was kidnapped and held by Hamas terrorists.

The head of the Mitar local council, Shimon Mazuz, went up to deliver the eulogy, but was unable to hold back the tears over the death of the resident and left the stage.
Many told about his broad heart as his sturdy body.

Lieutenant Colonel Guy Medar, who fought with Rani until his death, said: "I didn't get to know Rani before that Saturday. But that day our fates were linked. My first meeting with Rani, before the fighting, was when a terrorist vehicle passed us. I jumped in the car to follow him, and suddenly a burly soldier, a policeman I don't know, got into my car. At that point I didn't even know his name."

I call him Magen Alumim, because it's true. None of the residents of Alumim were killed. Everyone understands the space and what happened there. Thanks to heroes like Rani, no one was killed in Alumim. That right will be his forever. May we get to walk in his ways."

His sister Shira, in her painful voice, told about her older brother, the hero of her life: "For 116 days I have been wondering what happened to you. Are you being abused, are you cold, are you in pain, are you having a hard time? After his death, Goyili was promoted to first sergeant major.
He left behind a pair of parents, Itzik and Tilik and two brothers, Omri and Shira.
