The Scottish Terrier is currently having weight problems.

In terms of his health, he still has other problems that his new owners have to take into account.

Munich – “Obelix is apparently emulating his namesake: He is currently still very overweight and urgently needs to lose weight,” writes the Munich animal shelter about the black male Scottish Terrier.

The four-legged friend is around six years old and currently weighs around 15 kilograms with a shoulder height of 30 centimeters.

Nothing is known about his Obelix history.

He came to the animal shelter in Munich as a found dog.

New home for terriers: ground floor or with few stairs

The male dog is friendly, people-oriented, plays and also shows “his cuddly side”.

According to the animal shelter, it has not yet been tested whether he is compatible with other animals.

For his new home, a ground-floor environment or one where he doesn't have to walk a few stairs, for example where there is an elevator, is ideal.

In his new home he also has to practice staying alone.

He doesn't like it so far.

There is also one special thing to note about Obelix: the male dog has a hormonal disorder that affects the adrenal glands.

In order to cope with the so-called Cushing's syndrome, he needs daily tablets and regular check-ups.

The animal shelter also noticed a noticeable heart murmur.

Investigations into this are still pending.
