Erding - The 61st regional competition “Youth making music” took place in Erding this year.

140 young talents took part and won 16 first prizes that were passed on.

Around 140 young people demonstrated their skills at the 61st regional competition “Youth Make Music” at the Erding District Music School.

“Everyone was very, very well prepared,” said district music school director Peter Hackel and spoke of a “festival of art and pedagogy”.

There were notable first prizes with passage to the state competition, which takes place in Kempten in March, as well as many first and second prizes.

There is generally no forwarding for children in the youngest age group.

The children and young people had prepared intensively for the competition with their teachers.

Whether piano four to eight hands or two pianos, piano and a string instrument, woodwind and brass instruments, art song in a duo or guitar - it was evaluated in many different instrumental areas.

The young musicians are taught at the KMS or privately.

Some of them were accompanied by teachers during the competition, others were accompanied by competition participants.

The parents supported their children.

“The jury discussions were also very well received,” reported Hackel.

There, development potential was discussed in friendly discussions.

Since the KMS was hosting the regional competition this year in rotation with Freising, the KMS administration team had a lot to do.

There was a lot of coming and going in the KMS auditorium on both days of the competition.

Children and young people waited with concentration for their performance, and a certain amount of stage fright was part of it.

Excited anticipation was in the air.

After the game, the instruments were stowed away.

Some fortified themselves with a snack and drinks, chatted with their teachers, accompanying parents, siblings, grandparents, friends or other competition participants.

The regional competition was also a stimulating meeting place.
