Highlights: “The light is too aggressive”: TikToker gets a world cruise as a gift – and complains from day 1. Many people on TikTok react to the American's constant criticism in videos in their own posts. Others are bothered by the fact that the model was sent on the ship by her sponsor solely to get the rumor mill going. But many of Marc's 1.6 million fans see the videos in transparency and comment critically in the videos for example: “Seriously, we want you to extend your trip. Keep making videos.”

As the saying went, you don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

However, a model on TikTok sees it differently and is causing discussions.

Munich – By now you might think you have seen everything on the video portal TikTok.

Videos of young adults who can't imagine working 40 hours or internet trends of a destructive nature.

But now another video is causing a stir in the community: an American model complaining about a cruise she was given as a gift.

Sponsored World tour cruise criticized on TikTok

There are probably worse things than being invited on a nine-month trip around the world.

This “happened” to the American model, TikToker and stylist Marc Sebastian.

The 33-year-old was sponsored by the publisher “Atria Books” for at least part of the trip.

Since embarking on the journey, he's been keeping his TikTok community up to date: the latest rumors about the ship's crew, his thoughts on the service, his choice of outfits, and his experiences on land between legs.

On his trip, the TikTok star takes his 1.6 million followers on the ship “Serenade of the Seas” from the shipping company Royal Caribbean.

An approximately 300 meter long cruise ship that has been sailing the world's oceans since 2003.

On the world tour, 65 countries are to be visited within 274 nights.

However, Marc is only there for a trip to Antarctica for the time being.

So you might think that the experiences on a gifted cruise would be entirely positive.

Far from it, because there are a lot of problems on the first day.

“Absolutely psychotic” expectations from the crew – first experiences on the world cruise

Barely a day on the cruise ship and the first defects are noticed.

In the first video of the cruise series on TikTok, the American tells his community: “It’s so loud on this ship.

Music is played non-stop,” is his first point of criticism.

In addition, the minibar in his room has not been refilled, the pool is not big enough for him and the “warm yellow light” is too aggressive for him.

However, things get really critical when it comes to the wardrobe.

Because the model brought too much clothing, he asked for extra hangers.

However, he was outraged to discover that they were wire clothes hangers.

Apparently no one on board had thought about how to hang a cashmere sweater on a wire hanger.

He commented on the incident that it was “absolutely psychotic” for the ship’s crew to expect something like that.

There are also positive things to report - criticism from TikTokers is causing discussions on the Internet

But it's not all bad.

The TikToker has been particularly enthusiastic about the character of some crew members and passengers since day one.

He quickly met interesting and nice people.

In another video he reported that the employees of the nail salon on board were very charming.

The nail salon per se is poorly equipped.

But he was particularly impressed by the inhabitants of Antarctica: the penguins.

Many people find the 33-year-old American's constant nagging bitter.

Some content creators on the platform react to the criticism videos in their own posts and describe the internet star as ungrateful or petty.

Others are bothered by the fact that the model was sent on the ship by her sponsor solely to get the rumor mill going.

also points out that many of the things Marc says about the crew are simply not true.

But Marc's 1.6 million fans see this less critically.

Many of them praise the transparency in the videos and comment, for example: “Seriously, we want you to extend your trip.

Keep making videos and reviews.” Even as a TikToker, you shouldn’t overdo it on a cruise ship.

Because there are actually a few reasons why you can fly off board.
