Defense Minister Yoav Galant has chosen journalist Tal Lev Ram as the next commander of the IDF.
As published in Walla! Baranja, Galant interviewed the three candidates recommended by the committee headed by the Director General of the Ministry of Defense Major General (Res.) Eyal Zamir yesterday (Tuesday) , from a list of 20 who submitted their candidacy, and decided that the journalist Tal Lev-Ram is the most suitable to command the station.
The last two candidates alongside Lev Ram were - the former editor of "What's Burning" Nurit Kanti, the former head of the news department at Galach and currently the deputy director of the news division of the corporation Elail Shahar, and the station's military correspondent, who is considered the leading candidate - the former spokesman for Galant Tal Lev Ram The acting commander for the past year, Danny Zaken, was not among the names.
Lev Ram will replace the acting commander of the station for the past year. His appointment as a permanent commander comes after about two and a half years in which there was no permanent commander for the station.

a few months ago the High Court of Justice issued a conditional order in the petition of a success association that ordered Galant to explain why he would not complete the permanent appointment to the commander. Lev Ram has been working since 2008 as a military reporter and commentator on military and security affairs, first on the IDF radio station and later on Maariv and radio station 103FM.
