Jörg Stubenrauch has been documenting what happens at the Frieding fruit and horticultural association with his camera for decades.

Now the 80-year-old is showing his last film of the year.

Frieding – At the busy Friedinger Fruit and Horticultural Association (OGV), some changes are coming with today's annual meeting in the Oberer Wirt zum Queri (from 7.30 p.m.).

Long-time chairwoman Regina Stückl will step down as chairman, and her predecessor Anna Neppel will also be leaving the board after almost 30 years of work on the board.

For just as long, Jörg Stubenrauch provided the Gartlers with an annual film.

This should now also come to an end.

The 80-year-old wants to leave the “action” to others.

Anna Neppel can still remember how the films started.

At that time, former mayor Ludwig Mörtl made it a tradition to bring the horticultural clubs not only a floral decoration present, but also a film.

When Mörtl fell ill in 1993 and Erwin Rauscher stepped in for him, he and Anna Neppel had the idea of continuing the annual film production.

“It was in this environment that Jörg Stubenrauch came into play,” remembers Anna Neppel.

The chemist is not only a passionate photographer, but also enjoys making videos on his many travels.

He offered to document the club's years on film in the future.

Over the years, filmmaking quickly became more professional

“I can still see him and his wife driving past on their motorcycle,” says Anna Neppel, laughing.

At the beginning he took pictures of flower boxes and entrance areas as he drove past.

His wife was holding the camera.

“The images were much too fast, you could hardly see anything.” Over the years, the filmmaking quickly became more professional.

Equipped with the appropriate software, Stubenrauch now edits his films himself on the computer.

“I started with a VHS video camera,” says the 80-year-old.

At the beginning of the noughties he also immersed himself in the digital world.

The cameras became more manageable.

“You always see me at fruit and horticultural club events with a handheld camera in my hand.

Sometimes with the camera on the tripod.” Whether it was flower decorations, a plant exchange market or a senior program – Stubenrauch accompanied all the events.

“At the very beginning I also filmed the gardens.

But not everyone appreciated that.

Then I left it.”

Stop the “action”

Stubenrauch lived in Frieding for more than 40 years.

“A lot of people know me.” He has lived in Herrsching for several years, but is still a member of the fruit and horticultural association in the Andechs district, which has around 130 members.

And as such, he is often a guest at events.

Rudi or Karin Stumbaum only stepped in for him every now and then.

“For his sake,” they emphasize.

And yet: “As long as you live there, you are right in the middle of it all.

Now it’s no longer like that,” says Jörg Stubenrauch.

That’s why the “Friedinger Annual Film 2023” will be his last.

“It’s kind of a turning point,” he admits.

But the “action” becomes too much for him.

“Don’t underestimate the work involved in filming,” he says.

As mentioned, there will not be just one change after the annual meeting this Wednesday.

Two years ago, Regina Stückl (62) and Anna Neppel (73) announced their retirement and deliberately doubled the board to twelve members in order to ensure a smooth transition.

According to Regina Stückl, this is now prepared.
