Money is tight these days.

When it comes to building maintenance, the district can only afford the most urgent measures this year.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen - It is an annual exercise: During the budget consultations, the upcoming maintenance work on the district's properties is also discussed - primarily at the schools and at the district office.

There is always a division into priorities.

They range from 1 (essential, otherwise danger to life and limb or impending high economic damage) to 3 (desirable).

From a financial perspective, times are not exactly rosy for the district.

“Against this background, we examined savings potential,” said department head Wolfgang Krause at the meeting of the district building committee.

Administration suggestion: Anything that does not have priority 1 will not be done this year.

A good 800,000 euros would not have to be budgeted at this point.

“That would be very good for the overall budget,” said Krause.

The schoolyard design at the Tölzer Gymnasium will be completely deleted for the time being

And because we were already pushing and painting, District Administrator Josef Niedermaier (FW) had an additional suggestion.

In fact, the district puts off designing the playground at the Tölzer High School year after year.

Of course that would be nice in some way, but it's not as necessary as many other things.

But it costs almost half a million euros.

“If we push them three more times, it won’t make it any better.

Maybe we should delete them completely first,” said Niedermaier.

Because realistically, one has to recognize that there simply won't be enough money for this in the coming years.

Jakob Koch (Greens) was able to follow this - especially since “the school yard concept, I think, dates back to 2013”.

Maybe there would be an opportunity to work on something different.

However, it would be nice if we could make a note to add the item back to the list at some point, added Alexander Müllejans (Greens).

Does it take 530,000 euros for a new foyer in the district office?

Another expense item caught his eye: 530,000 euros will go towards the renovation of the district office entrance area.

The measure is in priority 1. We currently have an access solution that works.

“Sure, it’s expensive,” but given the need to save money, you could perhaps move the foyer.

A security service currently regulates access.

Only those who have made an appointment in advance are allowed in.

Security precautions are essential, said Niedermaier.

“We have incidents in the house,” he added.

He couldn't go into more detail about it in public, but only recently "a massive police operation was necessary again".

At the moment there is an “incredible amount of personnel” needed to make the situation manageable.

Access becomes more secure and automated

In the future, access could be controlled automatically.

The entrance area will be equipped with terminals.

Anyone who has booked an appointment online will be sent a QR code, which they can scan at the terminal and then go into the building and see their clerk.

Everyone else ends up with the employees at reception.

The conversion will cost the same as the current system for three to four years - without there being a sustainable solution, said Krause.

The redesign, on the other hand, immediately leads to “numerous positive effects,” said the department head.

“It would be a massive relief for the staff and a big benefit for the company,” added Niedermaier.

Around 3.2 million euros flow into building maintenance

Koch didn't want to say goodbye to the investments in Prio 2 yet.

“It is not crucial to the war whether we do it this year or next year,” said head of the department Christoph Bauer.

Thomas Holz (CSU) wanted to know whether it would be possible at all “in terms of time and manpower” to implement measures from Prio 2 this year.

After all, this problem is discussed year after year.

Michael Grasl (FW) also noted this.

“I am in favor of the administration’s proposal.”

This was then decided against the votes of Müllejans and Manuel Tessun (ÖDP).

This year only priority 1 will be completed.

This will cost the district around 3.2 million euros.
