The European company Gauss Fusion and Enea (National Agency for new technologies, energy and sustainable economic development) have signed a partnership for the development of technologies related to nuclear fusion.
Lo announces a note.
Together, Enea and Gauss Fusion intend to develop solutions for the following areas identified as fundamental for the development of fusion energy: blanket, fuel cycle, superconductivity and neutronics.
With this partnership, Gauss Fusion, a European start-up based in Germany, strengthens its collaboration with research and the Italian fusion energy industry.
Gauss Fusion's strategic mission is to combine industrial experience and scientific excellence to accelerate the development and implementation of technologies to bring fusion energy "from the laboratory to grid use" in Europe.
Enea, based in Rome, aims to promote Italy's competitiveness in the energy, new technologies and environmental sectors, in particular by supporting research and technological development.
Gauss, which already has among its investors and technological partners Hofima, the holding company of the Malacalza family, also a shareholder of ASG Superconductors, thanks to this agreement strengthens its link with the Italian research and industry scenario;
Enea is in fact the first Italian research organization to collaborate with Gauss Fusion, which aims to build the first fusion power plant by the early 2040s to promote Europe's energy independence.
