The Eos Investment Management group, an independent investor in the sustainable energy transition, buys six Italian agrivoltaic plants for almost 300 MW of power from Lightsource bp, a world leader in the development and management of solar energy projects.
This was announced in a press release explaining that the portfolio, with a total capacity of 294 MW, is made up of photovoltaic projects authorized or in the final authorization phase, with the start of construction expected in the next 12 months, which will promote the integration of renewable energy generation with various agricultural activities such as the production of honey, the cultivation of olive trees, pistachios and oranges and other local crops, as well as hosting sheep grazing, in a logic of full protection of biodiversity.
This transaction, explains the note, allows Lightsource to invest and further extend its presence in the Italian market.
The company has so far developed a portfolio of photovoltaic systems of over 1 Gw in the advanced authorization phase and has consolidated a substantial pipeline of energy storage projects.
