Now he is making serious accusations against the responsible clinic.

Turin - The case of a 55-year-old Italian woman is shocking: The woman from Turin suffered from severe depression and therefore sought euthanasia in a Swiss clinic.

She died there on October 12, 2023. However, the 55-year-old hid her decision from her family and loved ones.

An hour before her death, she sent a cryptic message to her lawyer with her final wishes: "Go home, turn off the electricity and water, donate my clothes to charity and entrust the urn with our son's ashes to my husband." .

The lawyer then immediately notified the woman's husband in Italy and filed a missing person's report.

But at this point their decision could no longer be stopped.

He is now making serious allegations against the clinic.

“We couldn't try to dissuade her or say goodbye to her, either before or after her death.

We only received her ashes.” According to him, the relatives were confident that the woman would recover from her depression.

The municipal councilor of Turin, Silvio Viale, defended the responsible institution: “I am sure that the Swiss clinic that took on the case has carried out all the health examinations.” He respects the woman's decision and is happy that the clinic is helping her made it possible to die with dignity.

The clinic itself has not released a statement on the case.

The woman had to travel to Switzerland for euthanasia because it is banned in Italy.

In 2022, a 44-year-old man received permission for medically assisted suicide there for the first time.

But the legal situation there, as in Germany, is still complicated.

In this country, the right to self-determination remains unregulated by law.
