The Magistrate's Court in Israel today (Wednesday) convicted Ari Haro, who served as chief of staff in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office, of fraud and breach of trust. The indictment and the plea agreement were submitted as part of the state witness agreement, which was signed with Hero in the cases known as 1000 and 2000.
According to the settlement, the parties will petition to sentence Hero to six months of community service and a fine of NIS 700,000.
After his conviction according to his confession, it was determined that the arguments for punishment will take place after receiving the opinion of the commissioner of community service.

According to the indictment in which Haro admitted, before assuming the position of chief of staff in Prime Minister Netanyahu's office in January 2014, and as part of the request to settle the conflict of interest issue, Haro made a fictitious sale of a private company that he owned and engaged in consulting and support in the areas of government policy. "From a presentation according to which he severed all ties to the company - when in fact he retained his ties to it, and thus received the approval to enter his position as head of staff.
Also according to the indictment, in 2014 a company called "Nip Global" invited the president of Madagascar, who conditioned his visit to Israel on holding an official meeting with the president or the prime minister.
After the Ministry of Foreign Affairs refused the request for a meeting, the representatives of the "Nip" company contacted Hero, who referred them to the 3H company and following this request it was agreed that 3H would provide "Nip" with government relations services in connection with the visit of the President of Madagascar.

Harro admitted that he helped coordinate the meeting between the President of Madagascar and the Prime Minister, acting in a situation of conflict of interest between his public role and his personal interest.
