Gambero Rosso launches an appeal to ensure that "the term sustainability does not become an empty word".
Because "the message is strong - underlines the director Marco Mensurati - if there is substance behind the message. Therefore we must work - he urges - so that sustainability does not turn into a gigantic empty box".
Mensurati spoke at the conference 'Sustainability as a growth factor for companies in the agri-food sector' organized by Gambero Rosso, underway today in Turin.
The proceedings began with a greeting from Paolo Cuccia, vice-president of the Gambero Rosso Foundation, who recalled how Gambero Rosso has been committed to these issues for over ten years.
"We started with a study dedicated to the world of wine - he said - which demonstrated how sustainability can be done successfully".
Councilor Vittoria Poggio spoke on behalf of the Piedmont Region.
"The agri-food sector - she observed - is a sector of strength and development, with four million workers in Italy. We must accompany it in the current transition, paying attention to environmental sustainability, but also to economic and financial sustainability".
