Schongau

– For the first time, the Schongau-Pfaffenwinkel Lions Club organized a classic masked ball to benefit social causes.

Around 100 visitors transformed the Jakob Pfeiffer House into a world full of secrets and fascinating masquerade.

By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Schongau newsletter.

With the quote “Dancing is dreaming for the legs” and a fitting cover photo by Schondorf artist Claudia Mann, the club invited people to dance fun in the Jakob Pfeiffer House.

Those responsible had put a lot of love and passion into the lavishly decorated hall and the tasteful table decorations.

From the white and gold lanterns, the large silver candlesticks to the red carpet that led to the dance floor, the Lions Club members had thought of everything.

And immediately it goes to the floor

Ultimately, the festive atmosphere with splendor and elegance was created by the guests themselves, who spared neither expense nor effort to dress and mask exquisitely to match the theme.

Everywhere was full of glittering dresses with feather boas, hats, fine suits and mysterious masks.

The visitors were welcomed by Florentine Mortsch, president of the Schongau Pfaffenwinkel Lions Club.

She thanked the entire team for the preparation and organization of the event, which, in addition to fine food and drinks, offered an appealing program.

The rousing music of the Big Band under the direction of Andreas Immler ensured an introductory dance round on the dance floor before the appetizer.

With the appearance of the Minigarde Hohenfurch the atmosphere quickly reached its first peak.

Later, during the individual courses of the menu, the “Saitensprung” ensemble led by soprano Anna Perwein played quieter melodies from the 20s and 30s with violin, cello, flute and keyboard.

The “Maîtresse de danse” Olga Wild, who had already practiced diligently with the Lions Club members in advance, ensured that everyone danced to their hearts’ content.

During the classical polonaise, she gave the couples the opportunity to walk gracefully and majestically across the red carpet through the hall and to immerse themselves in the world of classical dance with the following polka and a waltz.

Numerous catchy tunes from soloists Lola Maren Aventarius and Herbert Haseitl made dancing along late into the night irresistible.

Teenage guard and fun in the photo box

The performance of the Teeniegarde Schongau was a feast for the eyes: the 20 acrobatically dancing girls under the direction of Julia Dollinger also contributed to the success of the evening.

There was never a dull moment in the foyer at the photo box of Agostino Nicoletti, vice president of the association.

For a small donation, funny souvenir photos could be taken there.

The proceeds from the event, at which all artists performed free of charge, will be handed over to the Pfaffenwinkel Music School, as the club cares about youth work and musical education in the Lechstadt.

The local newspapers in the Weilheim-Schongau district are represented on Instagram under “merkur_wm_sog”.

Mortsch described the evening as “good practice for the club’s 30th anniversary coming up this year,” for which planning will begin soon.

Perhaps the successful premiere laid the foundation for a permanent fixture in the Schongau events calendar and brought the beginning of a long-lasting tradition to life.
