A 78-year-old man and his 7-year-old grandson were hit by a car yesterday in via Livorno, near Piazza Bologna in Rome.
They were taken to hospital in serious condition.
A 40-year-old man was driving the car and stopped to help.
He underwent a blood alcohol test and tested negative.
Investigations into the dynamics are underway by the local police of the II Sapienza Group.
It would seem that grandfather and grandson were crossing near the stripes.
Yesterday's accident occurred a few days after that of Sister Flora Di Guglielmo, who was hit by a car on Saturday in Largo Brancaccio, in the center of Rome, and later died in hospital.
