After the train drivers, the aviation security forces stopped their work on Thursday.
Hanover Airport now took the consequences: all departures were canceled.
Hanover – All flights at Hanover Airport are canceled on Thursday due to the warning strike by aviation security forces.
“There will be no regular flight operations on this day,” a spokeswoman for the airport told dpa on Wednesday.
35 takeoffs and 34 landings were planned.
Hanover Airport will remain open for emergency and rescue flights.
The airport asked all affected passengers to contact their airline or tour operator.
Hamburg and Berlin airports had previously announced that they would be canceling all flights on Thursday due to the nationwide strike.
The Verdi union has called on security forces at eleven airports to go on an all-day strike on Thursday.
Frankfurt am Main and Bremen are also affected, among others.
The aviation security forces work at checks for passengers, baggage and personnel.
Without them, normal operation is not possible.
Verdi is demanding, among other things, higher salaries for the approximately 25,000 industry employees nationwide.
Collective bargaining will continue on February 6th and 7th.
