Nest boxes for titmice: what you need to know
Nest boxes for tits play a key role in their survival and reproduction.
These birds are attracted to nest boxes that look
natural and secure.
They mainly look for entrance holes of the right size, which allow them to enter while keeping predators out.
The interior should be spacious enough for the nest, but also compact enough to stay warm during the winter.
In addition, titmice prefer nest boxes placed in quiet places away from danger, providing them with an ideal refuge during the cold months and for the nesting period in spring.

Where and how to install your tit nest box?
The installation location is crucial to the effectiveness of the nest box.
Install it high up
, ideally on a vertical branch, facing away from the prevailing winds to protect it from bad weather.
Make sure it is placed far from predators, especially cats, and away from noisy or busy areas.
Orientation is also important.
The nest box should be placed so that the entrance is not directly exposed to rain.
