The European Cyclists' Federation (ECF) has announced that Rimini will host the 2026 edition of "Velo-city", a world cycling summit that returns to Italy after the distant 1991 edition.
The event will take place from 16 to 19 June 2026. For its candidacy, Rimini has brought together a broad coalition of partners, including Fiab (Italian Environment and Bicycle Federation), Italian member of Ecf, and Anci.
The 2026 edition will be jointly organized by the City of Rimini, VisitRimini, Pco Aim Group International and Ecf.
"We are thrilled to bring our main event to Rimini, a city that has achieved an incredible transformation from a car-centric environment to a people-oriented city - explained Jill Warren, CEO of ECF - Rimini's constant focus on sustainable mobility, which stands out in projects like this of the redevelopment of its waterfront, demonstrates a clear commitment towards a sustainable future".
Velo-city in 2024 will be hosted by the Belgian town of Ghent, and in 2025 it will be in Gdansk, Poland.
