The 19th season of “Germany's Next Top Model” will start shortly on ProSieben.
The casting show with Heidi Klum has some innovations in its luggage.
Hamburg - "Only one can become 'Germany's next top model'!" This infamous sentence will probably no longer be heard from Heidi Klum (50) in the coming episodes of her successful show.
The model mom has come up with a completely new concept for the 19th “GNTM” season.
For the first time, male candidates are also allowed to take part in the casting format and take advantage of their chance of a career in the fashion industry.
New “GNTM” concept: That’s why Heidi Klum chooses a winner
Heidi's men are evaluated separately from her girls.
In the final episode, the jury will choose the two best models as winners in their respective gender category.
The two winners have to share the title of “Germany's Next Top Model” this year.
Since the “Diversity” season in 2021, Heidi Klum has increasingly relied on a wide range of candidates for her show.
From now on, plus-size models, best agers and petites ensured diversity and body positivity on “Germany’s Next Top Model”.
In a new interview with
TV Digital
, Klum now explains why she is using different evaluation criteria for her models in the coming season: “The candidates will have different tests - because there are still differences.
For example, in Paris, Milan, London and New York men don't walk in high heels, even if it happens now and then.
Female models can be transformed with wigs and makeup.”
The two winners still receive the same reward.
“My winner and my winner will each receive a cover on 'Harper's Bazaar' and a 100,000 euro winner's bonus,” the supermodel announced in an interview with the magazine.
According to Heidi Klum, there is strict gender separation in the new “GNTM” season
By the way, so that this year's GNTM models can concentrate fully on their participation, women and men will be accommodated separately.
“The bedrooms will be separate,” reports Heidi Klum about life in the model villa, “although ultimately the participants are all of age.
They're all adults, not children, so I'm not worried.
But because I nominate men and women separately, I also separate them in the accommodation.
But there will be a community area where they can cook, eat and relax together.”

The chief juror is certain that the innovation will cause excitement among GNTM fans.
“I have chosen real dream men,” says Heidi happily in the

interview.
