Then he was plagued by remorse.

Now the man had to answer in court.

Ebersberg – A series of vandalism shocked the community of Markt Schwaben last summer.

Within just five days, sprayers smeared numerous house facades with red and white paint.

One of those responsible now had to answer before the Ebersberg district court for damaging property that was harmful to the community.

“More than embarrassing”: Graffiti sprayer from Markt Schwaben confesses

The 32-year-old Markt Schwabener confessed in court.

"I'm beyond embarrassed, but it's all true," he said, bowing his head.

The event logistics specialist went out with his friend on several evenings with cans of paint.

The duo made their first stop at Markt Schwabener Bahnhof.

There, the defendant daubed the stairway leading to the underpass with the acronym “ACAB,” which stands for the English expression “All cops are bastards” or “All cops are pigs.”

In the following nights, Markt Schwabener also painted the local secondary school, the town hall building, the entrance door of the elementary school, the “Storchennest” kindergarten and a residential and commercial building on Bahnhofsstrasse with this lettering.

The 32-year-old sprayed a Satan's cross on a chapel and St. Margaret's Church, and a circle on a statue in the renatured area on Postanger.

In addition to the “ACAB” graffiti, according to the prosecution, the number combinations “570” for Markt Schwaben and the Hitler salute “88,” which is well known in the right-wing scene, were also found on individual facades.

Graffiti in protest: 32-year-old man sentenced to fine after graffiti

However, the defendant distanced himself from the latter: “That wasn’t me,” he emphasized.

When asked by Judge Dieter Kaltbeitzer why he made the graffiti, the man did not want to make a statement.

However, the defendant claimed to the police that he had put up the graffiti in protest.

The reason: There have been problems with juvenile crime in Markt Schwaben for some time.

It seemed to the defendant as if “the young people could do anything and the police did nothing,” reported an officer invited as a witness.

About a month after his actions, the man finally began to feel guilty.

He turned himself in.

The prosecutor and judge recognized the defendant's goodwill.

In view of the ten previous convictions - for which he had already been imprisoned several times - Kaltbeitzer sentenced the man to a fine of 6,000 euros.

“Less is not possible,” said the judge.
