The delegation of UN ambassadors, led by Ambassador Gilad Erdan, opened their visit to Israel today (Wednesday) with an emotional meeting with Mia and Iti Regev, who were kidnapped to Gaza by Hamas and released.

Mia and Iti, who were accompanied by their father, Ilan, told the ambassadors their personal story starting from the moment of the abduction to Gaza and more than 50 days they stayed in Gaza.

The difficult story of the Regev brothers was an important prelude to the visit to Israel, which illustrates to the UN ambassadors the situation in Israel and reveals to them the truth about the events of October 7 and the war with Hamas.

Among other things, Mia Regev described to the ambassadors the unimaginable cruelty of the Hamas terrorists towards her, and told how they abused her by hitting her injured leg, mocking and laughing at her.

"The Hamas terrorists tore off my clothes," she said.

"They took my identity and my name from me. The terrorist who watched over me told me every day that if the IDF came to save me, then he would shoot me immediately, and not die alone."

Mia clarified to the ambassadors: "It is your responsibility to return all the abductees home now. Their time is running out."

Ambassador Erdan told her and her brother that they are "real heroes", and added: "Your courage and strength move us all. I salute you."

During the conversation, Ambassador Erdan said: "Calling for a ceasefire means keeping Hamas in power."

And as they already said - they will carry out this massacre again and again as soon as they can.

Their goal is to use terror against us and make us leave the country out of fear.

A ceasefire is unacceptable and this week during your visit to the Gaza border and the northern border where the UN plays a significant role - I hope you will understand why we cannot continue to live with these threats and why we are so determined to destroy them."

Itay and Mia were kidnapped from the Nova party in Kibbutz Ra'im, which turned into a terrible massacre in which more than 350 people were murdered.

Mia was held captive for 50 days, and after she was released, she was referred to Soroka with a complex leg injury - which has not yet healed.

Her brother Itai was released a few days later.
