A 50-year-old man driving without a license, without insurance and under the influence of drugs was arrested on January 27 around 8:30 p.m. in Vénissieux.
A few moments earlier, he had been spotted by a police patrol while driving at high speed with his headlights off.
The police attempted to control the driver of the vehicle who refused to stop.
A chase then began.
Against the direction
To escape the police, the driver took a street in the wrong direction and ended up hitting a vehicle coming in front of him.
Blocked in this wrong way, he tried to back up and hit the police vehicle before being arrested.
The driver and the passenger, aged 50 and 32 respectively and unfavorably known to the police, partially admitted the facts in police custody.
During the accident, the driver of the vehicle hit and a police officer were slightly injured.
They filed a complaint.
At the end of police custody, the passenger was released while the driver was referred to the Lyon public prosecutor's office on January 29 for an immediate appearance for "refusal to comply, lack of driving license, lack of insurance, driving under the influence of drugs and violence against persons holding public authority.”
