Hotel New York, the historic monument
Opened 30 years ago, during the rehabilitation of the port district of Kop van Zuid, on the south bank of the New Meuse, the New York hotel is the emblematic establishment of Rotterdam.
Occupying the former headquarters of the Holland-America Line, this red brick Art Deco gem once welcomed transatlantic passengers.
Responsible for the history of the thousands of Europeans who left to try their luck in the United States, it has preserved old clocks, Art Nouveau stained glass windows, original wooden staircases and elevators as well as the furniture of the old offices spread across the 72 rooms.
Closing your eyes, you almost think you hear the rumble of the big liners.
A true institution, the hotel restaurant, renowned for its oyster bar and seafood, impresses with its immense chandeliers.

Morgan & Mees, the local boutique hotel

A stone's throw from the Boijmans Van Beuningen Depot, this former local radio station began a second life in the summer of 2023. After two years of work, the building with its modernist lines now houses a hotel with twenty rooms, some of which offer superb views of the the museum garden in the distance (notably the penthouse).
All different but always bright, the rooms are graphic and colorful with black and white tiled bathrooms.
Already present in Amsterdam, Morgan & Mees aims to connect travelers (Morgan) with the people of Rotterdam (Mees).
The hotel restaurant allows this interaction.
With its warm lighting and locally inspired menu, it lends itself to intimate dinners as well as tables with friends.

This new design hotel, a member of Marriott's Tribute collection, occupies the functionalist building of a former newspaper in the central district of Kralingen.
With its brass floor lamps, swivel leather armchairs, old typewriters and velvet benches, The Slaak revisits the vintage aesthetic.
Scattered over 6 floors, the 74 rooms highlight materials: leather, wood, marble, concrete... with beautiful murals, echoing the city's numerous street art frescoes.
The Didot34 restaurant and cocktail bar, named in homage to the typography used by the newspaper, is a beautiful space on several levels, ideal for dining.

It is no coincidence that the Hilton group chose Rotterdam in 2022 for its first Motto establishment in Europe.
This new brand is establishing itself in dynamic cities, choosing historic buildings, where the rooms are compact and high-tech.
Located a few hundred meters from the Markthal and the old port, the Motto Rotterdam occupies a superb Bauhaus building with a white brick facade.
Small, its 108 rooms do not exceed 15m2, but some are modular and communicating.
All identical, they have very comfortable bedding and use quality materials for a minimalist decor.

Occupying a former post office from the beginning of the 20th century, Supernova Hotel plays the industrial and arty card with numerous photos from the Nederlands Fotomuseum and works loaned by the Kunsthal.
