The General Commissariat for Italy at Expo 2025 Osaka and the Italy Japan Foundation have signed a memorandum of understanding in order to jointly organize initiatives and events that can enhance Italy's presence at Expo 2025 Osaka.
The next Universal Exhibition, which will be held in Japan from 13 April to 13 October 2025, has as its theme "Designing the society of the future for our lives" which the Italian Pavilion has chosen to express in the subject "Art regenerates Life" .
The project, designed by architect Mario Cucinella, is a modern reinterpretation of the Ideal Renaissance City with the theatre, the square and the garden at the center of a typically Italian urban model that places emphasis on the importance of human relations and technology at the service of the person.
“Italy and Japan have been linked for over 150 years of political relations.
Both are members of the G7, G20 and OECD, and after the meeting in January 2023 between Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, they elevated their diplomatic relations to the rank of strategic partnership" commented the ambassador Mario Vattani, General Commissioner for Italy at Expo 2025 Osaka.
“Even in an Expo that will naturally be a global event, strengthening the already excellent bilateral relations with Japan is one of Italy's objectives in this important event.
The collaboration with the Italy-Japan Foundation, which has always been committed to promoting dialogue between the two countries, will develop in this direction".
