One person dies after a police operation in Frankfurt.
The exact cause of death and the background to the incident are still completely unclear.
A firearm was probably involved.
Frankfurt – One person died in a major police operation in the Sachsenhausen district of Frankfurt on Tuesday evening (January 30th).
As a police spokesman said when asked, the person is said to have attacked several people on the banks of the Main in the early evening hours.
The police then cordoned off the area and firearms were used.
Officials said the person had since died in hospital.
The police are currently still busy collecting evidence at the scene.
There is currently no further information about the operation on site or the exact cause of death of the person.
The background to the previous attacks is also still completely unclear.
The State Criminal Police Office has started the investigation.
