Sindelsdorf – “Without any special incidents”: This is how the farmers’ protest on the A 95 motorway, which was announced at short notice for Wednesday, January 31st, went according to a spokesman for the Upper Bavaria South Police Headquarters in Rosenheim

According to the police spokesman, around 13 Bulldogs with a total of around 20 farmers initially gathered in the commuter parking lot on the B 472 around 10 a.m.

With two of the vehicles and accompanied by police vehicles, the motorway entrance towards Garmisch and the exit towards Munich were blocked;

between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. several times for 15 minutes and always with a 30 minute break in between.

One person who had put his bulldog in position for this was the Ettinger BBV local chairman Hermann Karg.

“Our aim is to shake things up again today,” said Karg, explaining the action, which took place in the shadow of the budget debate in the Bundestag.

Farmers have been protesting against the government's announced measures for weeks, said Thomas Müller, managing director of the BBV office in Weilheim.

Now it is important that “a political signal comes.”

Further action will be discussed in a few days

According to Karg, the two motorway entrances near Sindelsdorf were the only ones in the district where farmers were allowed to block the entrances.

The farmers were also “willing to compromise”.

Both the driveways near Penzberg and those near Seeshaupt were not affected by the protests.

No significant traffic disruptions

The previously feared traffic disruptions as a result of the farmers' protests on the B 472 did not occur on Wednesday.

Many drivers had apparently prepared for this and bypassed the area or had switched to neighboring motorway junctions.

Karg and Müller now want to wait in the coming days to see whether the protests have an effect.

Then the next steps should be discussed.
