She was saved by a motorist.
A 16-year-old girl was attacked in Saint-Nazaire, Friday January 26, on the path to Porcé that she was taking to return home, late in the afternoon.
Lulled by the music she was listening to, she had not noticed the individual approaching her behind her.
Drawing a knife, the man grabbed the young woman and placed the weapon at her throat.
The attack did not last.
Witnessing the scene, a driver immediately stopped to help the victim and control his attacker.
Interned in a specialized establishment
The attacker was arrested shortly after by a BAC patrol.
He was in possession of a fishing knife with a long blade.
According to the Saint-Nazaire police station, the attacker is a 40-year-old Nazairian.
Placed in police custody, he was transferred then subsequently interned in a specialized establishment, his psychiatric state having been considered worrying.
“He did not seem to have all his mental faculties
,” the police said in their report.
The victim was not physically injured during his attack;
in a state of shock, she was nevertheless prescribed three days of temporary work interruption.
She filed a complaint for violence with a weapon.
