The president of the Venezuelan National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, insulted the United States and dismissed warnings from the US Treasury Department about the return of sanctions on oil and gas.
Rodríguez also heads the Maduro Government's representation team in dialogue with the opposition.
Joe Biden's government has warned that it will reimpose the economic sanctions that had been suspended in exchange for Venezuela's democratic opening.
This decision was announced after Maduro imposed a veto against opposition candidate María Corina Machado.
