“Never again is now” and “Yes to democracy” – these are the titles under which demonstrations against the right are taking place in the western district on Friday and Saturday.

They take place across factions and with clubs or even schools.

Gilching/Seefeld

- "Yes to democracy - No to right-wing extremism - Democrats stick together": Under this motto, an alliance was founded in Gilching, consisting of all six Gilching local council factions (CSU, SPD, Greens, FDP, FW, BfG) and also includes the student co-responsibility of the Gilching Christoph-Probst-Gymnasium.

On Friday, February 2nd, at 4 p.m., the alliance is calling for people to take part in a demonstration on the Gilching town hall square.

One day later, on February 3rd, at 4 p.m., a protest march will take place in Seefeld, initiated by the local council factions and clubs.

“A growth in right-wing extremist and anti-Semitic sentiments, fantasies of subversion in right-wing circles, discussion groups on mass deportations, the keyword “remigration”, and the influx to right-wing extremist parties are shocking and worrying,” writes Christian Winklmeier in a statement from the Gilching Alliance.

“The organizers mentioned want to set an example for good coexistence, for sensible democratic discourse and against anti-constitutional right-wing extremist ideas.”

“Never again is now!

– Together against exclusion, hatred and agitation!” is the motto on Saturday in Seefeld.

The alliance is supported by the FDP, Greens, Eichenallee Citizens' Initiative, SPD, BVS, CSU, FWG, Federal Nature Conservation Association, Räsonanz, Pilsensee-Wörthsee Fishing Association, Capella Vocale Hechendorf, EUTB, Against Forgetting - For Democracy, Pilsensee Sailing Club, Culture in Seefeld Castle, Arge Inclusion Advisory Board Starnberg, Rotary Club Wörthsee, TSV Hechendorf and Oberalting-Seefeld, TC Seefeld, NBH Seefeld and Hechendorf, Asylum Helpers Circle “and many other people from civil society,” as it says in a press release.

“The organizers invite you to stand up and stand up for our democracy, for respectful coexistence, for diversity and tolerance.

They would like to set an example together so that a cruel chapter in Germany is not repeated.”

“I view it with great concern when the appreciation of our free, democratic basic order is lost and the wheel of history is turned back,” said Thomas Rogorsch (TSV Hechendorf).

“We need more mindfulness, consideration and tolerance again,” says Constanze Gentz from BN.

And the inclusion officer Bärbel Seibold emphasizes: “A democratic society needs the opinions and commitment of many different people.

Inclusion makes this democratic diversity alive and worth living.”

The demonstration begins at 4 p.m. at Seefeld Castle, from there it goes along Graf-Toerring-Seefeld-Straße and the main street to Marienplatz.

A final rally will take place there at around 5 p.m.

The organizers are calling on people to take part in the demonstration with creative posters.

Party flags are not welcome.

“People of all ages are welcome at the demonstration; the pace will be slow enough that everyone can join in,” said the organizers.
