Barely a week after the devastating fire in Leutstetten, workers yesterday covered the badly damaged roof of the building with a tarpaulin to prevent further damage.

An insurance damage assessor wants to look at the house this week.

Then it could be clear whether the building can be renovated or needs to be demolished.

The willingness to help after the house fire in Leutstetten continues.

Among other things, a donation account was set up for the family.

Leutstetten

– The willingness to help after the devastating house fire in Leutstetten almost a week ago is unbroken.

The village community has now set up a collective account for the affected family through the city: IBAN DE37 7025 0150 0430 0520 84 at the Kreissparkasse München Starnberg Ebersberg.

The recipient is the city of Starnberg, the intended purpose is “Brand Leutstetten”.

Transfers are possible until February 29th, local spokesman Hans Pestenhofer told Starnberger Merkur on Tuesday.

However, donation receipts cannot be issued.

As reported, a fire broke out in the winter garden of the family home on the night of last Friday.

According to the police, the probable cause was a technical defect.

A father (64), his wife (59), her brother (63) and two sons (24 and 32) suffered smoke poisoning.

While everyone else has now been able to leave the clinic, the 64-year-old is still being treated there as an inpatient.

The father, the two sons and another son who did not live in the house are committed members of the Leutstetten Volunteer Fire Department.

The house has been uninhabitable since the fire.

In the meantime, everyone is well accommodated, some in a rented apartment in Leutstetten, some in Hanfeld, and there is also an option in Petersbrunn, explained Pestenhofer.

The collection of clothing has now been completed.

Pants, jackets, shirts, shoes, belts and much more are available in the required sizes, says Pestenhofer.

The campaign was organized by the chairwoman of the Leutstetten fire department, Doris Bauer.

Independent of the village community's campaign, there are two private fundraising campaigns by Starnberg firefighters Regina Falk and Paula Pfeffer.

Falk said yesterday that more than 30,000 euros had already been raised for the family via gofundme.com and Paypal.

“We don’t really care where donations are made,” she emphasized.

The main thing is to help people.
