One detail bothered him so much that he almost canceled the RTL series from the 90s.
Munich - Sigmar Solbach (77) was the titular doctor Dr. for seven years from 1995.
Stefan Frank can be seen in the TV series of the same name.
The show ran on RTL until 2001 and released over 100 episodes in seven seasons.
What most fans don't know: The series almost came to an abrupt end because the actor was bothered by one detail - namely the subtitle of the show.

Stefan Frank – The Doctor Who Women Trust” was the official title of the medical series about Dr.
Frank, played by Sigmar Solbach, who moves from Berlin to Munich after the death of his wife to start a new life and is immediately taken over by his patients on a daily basis.
But it was the subtitle in the series name that almost caused the project to fail, because Solbach did not agree with the sexist slogan at all.
“When I heard what Helmut Thoma had come up with for a subtitle, I wanted to give back my contract and not play the whole thing anymore because I said: That's not possible at all.
“The doctor that women trust,” the actor said in an interview with
RTL
.
He almost gave up the role if his agent hadn't advised him against it.
“But then my agent pulled me by the ears and said: No, that’s out of the question, you do it.”

Stefan Frank"
Today Sigmar Solbach is happy that he listened to his agent and Dr.
Having brought Stefan Frank to life.
“I'm very glad that I did it, even with this subtitle.” He also noticed pretty quickly that the audience actually found the title quite funny and derived all sorts of sayings from it.

“That shows that the whole thing is a cult series,” he says happily today.

Solbach is still waiting for his role as Dr.
Stefan Frank addressed by people from all generations.
He's happy about it and enjoys talking to the viewers who saw him on the screen as a child or who would like to get an autograph for his grandma.
