Highlights: For the second year in a row, Gennevilliers is offering a ‘respite stay’ at its property in Ménilles (Eure) to forty children aged 9 to 16 from the area around Trostianets, an area under Russian occupation. On the menu: outings to Paris or to the sea, distance learning classes and workshops with French teenagers. A way “to establish the notions of hospitality and openness to others”, underlines Gonéry Libouban, director of culture for the city.

This Wednesday, young people from Genneville met and interviewed around ten Ukrainian children who their city is welcoming for the second year.

“Do you miss your family?

» “How do you manage to take classes?”

" " Do you like France ?

» “What is your favorite fast food?”

» The questions that burn on the lips of young Genneville residents flow with disarming sincerity towards the dozen Ukrainian children gathered, this Wednesday, within the walls of the Saâd-Abssi space.

Through filmed interviews, conducted as part of the Gennevilliers Teen Club video workshop, the war and its horrors are discussed in a mixture of laughter and broken English.
