Robins don't just enjoy a feeder;
The extremely pretty birds even eat from the ground.
Feeders are of course preferable as they offer the animal shelter and protect them from cold and predators.
However, if you are in a hurry and just want to quickly attract birds to watch, feeding on the ground is more practical.
Robins are “soft feeders” that usually eat mostly insects and worms on the ground.
However, in winter this food supply does not exist and robins need alternatives.
Bushes and hedges are where the animals stay, where they feed on fruits and berries.
According to the Nature Conservation Association of Germany (NABU), the preferred foods include the fruits of viburnum, Pfaffenhütchen, dogwood, buckthorn and ivy.
It is best to use raisins for feeding, as the birds from the flycatcher family like them best.

Feed robins the following foods:
Raisins or dried grapes.
If these are added to coconut oil or tallow, they are much more nutritious.
oatmeal
Peeled sunflower seeds
Mealworms
Chopped nuts
Berries or chopped apples
However, do not spread the above snacks directly on the garden floor as this is unhygienic and can attract rodents.
Instead, you should choose a shallow bowl.
You should avoid suet balls as they can be fatal to the animals.
