The municipality of Poing has published the cost statement for the 2023 folk festival.

Compared to 2022, these have increased by over 10,000 euros.

Poing – “Last year’s folk festival was judged to be very successful by everyone involved,” said Second Mayor Reinhard Tonollo at the local council meeting on January 25, 2024. And at the same time stated the facts:

In the final accounting, expenses amounted to 90,336.36 euros.

In 2022 the festival cost 79,701.38 euros.

In the opinion of the administration, the expenses for the volunteer reception amounting to 23,318.30 euros (2022: 19,361.90 euros) - as in previous years - cannot be directly attributed to the folk festival, but would also be the case if a separate event were held outside the folk festival developed.

Taking this amount into account, and excluding the income of 2,000 euros for the festival host's participation in the electricity distributor purchased in 2019, the costs for the municipality in the year amount to 69,018.06 euros.

The current expenses have increased compared to 2019, primarily due to the costs for the security service for the outdoor area around the festival site (the landlord pays the costs for security in the tent and festival site) and the increased personnel and travel costs of the construction depot.

In addition, the prices for food stamps have increased since 2019.

The permanently installed power distributors on the fairground that were purchased in 2019 have significantly reduced the costs of the previous mobile distribution.
